Flea,Tick and Heartworm Preventatives
We realize there are a lot of flea and tick products out there to choose from. To make your decision a little easier we've put the ones we offer on a single list for you, with some key points about them.
Advantage II (Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen): FLEAS ONLY
- Safe for dogs at least 7 weeks old and over 3 lbs, and cats at least 8 weeks old and over 5 lbs
- DO NOT USE CANINE ADVANTAGE ON CATS!
- DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO HAVE CONTACT WITH TREATED AREA UNTIL DRY!
- Canine: Kills fleas, flea eggs, larvae, and lice. Feline: Does not kill lice
- Kills fleas on contact, 98% of fleas are dead in 12 hours
- Caution in pregnant or lactating pets
- Waterproof: apply 24-48 hours before bathing or when completely dry
- Apply monthly
Bravecto Chews (Fluralaner): FLEAS AND TICKS ONLY
- Safe for DOGS ONLY at least 6 months old and at least 4.4 lbs
- Kills fleas and the Black legged tick, American dog tick, and Brown dog tick
- Give one tablet every 3 months
- Safe to use every 2 months to kill the Lonestar tick
- Chewable tablet
- No known contraindications
- Begins killing fleas in 1 hour
- 98% of fleas dead within 12 hours. 100% dead in 48 hours
Bravecto Plus for Cats (fluralaner & Moxidectin topical solution): FLEAS, TICKS, HOOKWORMS AND ROUNDWORMS, HEARTWORM PREVENTION
- For CATS ONLY 6 month of age and older
- Applied topically
- Administered every 2 months
- No known contraindications
- Prescription required
- Cats should be heartworm tested before administration
Frontline Gold Feline / Canine (Fipronil, (S)-Methoprene, Etofenprox): FLEAS AND TICKS ONLY
- Safe for cats and dogs 12 weeks or older
- Kills adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks, lice and controls sarcoptic mange
- Kills flea on contact; flea does not have to bite pet
- Starts killing fleas in 1 hour
- Caution in pregnant and lactating pets
- Waterproof: apply 24 hours before bathing or when completely dry
- Apply monthly

- Use with caution on pregnant or lactating pets. Use with caution on pets with seizures

Capstar (Nitenpyram): FLEAS ONLY
- Safe for dogs and cats at lest 4 weeks old and 2 lbs
